It is well known that water has always been an important issue in every country’s agenda. Africa has 345 million without water access followed by Southeast, East Asia and Oceania, who have 200 million without water. Adding to the statistics 3.4 million people die every year from water related disease.

According to the World Bank, as many as two billion people lack adequate sanitation facilities, while a billion don’t have water at all. In very marginalized communities women and young girls have to walk miles in order to collect water. The lack of water prevents the community from developing effectively and therefore it is impossible to get out of poverty.
The solution to this problem is rather simple. There is water below the ground but it is difficult for these communities to reach it due to lack of money and technology.
That’s why The Thirst Project has set a goal to raise money for these communities in order for them to get the necessary equipment.
